Is it possible to make ski poles about an inch or 2 higher?

I bought my ski poles last season (in a rush) and after about 2 runs noticed that they were about a couple inches too short for my liking.

Is there someway I can make them taller? Maybe take the top grip off - somehow - without ruining them?

   For safety then you want to save your self couple bucks in anyway compromise the question is will it like will it like will this in anyway compromise the safe.

   The grips and insert it with wood dowel in the grips and the line poles we have never tried to lengthen them adjust mine by 1375 inches shorter it in the grip when.
